Writers
typically submit a sample of their work, generally the first ten
to fifteen pages. Lorin evaluates their writing and then
discusses what Free Expressions can do to help the writer
improve and achieve his or her goals. In some cases, it may not
serve the client's best interests for Free Expressions to edit
his or her work. In these instances, Lorin will suggest an
alternative plan better suited to the writer's needs.
Once a work is accepted for editing, a deposit of 50% of the total fee is due. Payment may
be made by check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). At this time, Free
Expressions will give the writer an estimated turnaround date.
Our Complete Manuscript service is broken into two parts:
1. Line and structural editing, which includes intensive editing of the
first 100-150 pages as well as generous comments throughout the entire text.
2. An accompanying evaluation. This report, generally about twenty
single-spaced pages, focuses on all aspects of the novel including its market potential,
structure, treatment of theme, use of language, narrative flow, characterization,
dialogue, description, viewpoint, pacing, and so on. It also deals with story specifics on
a page-by-page basis. |
