THE FINE ART OF THE REWRITE WORKSHOP
Thursday, October 14 through Sunday, October 17, 2010
Are you faced with tackling your second -or fifteenth- draft with little idea of
how to proceed?
Have you been told that your pacing is too slow, your scenes and characters need
fleshing out, your work 'just didn't grab' an agent or editor?
Would you like to learn simple, direct methods for tackling your revisions and
making every novel the absolute best it can be?
In this workshop, Lorin Oberweger (writer, independent editor, and director of
the Breakout Novel Intensive and other workshops) and Jason Sitzes (writer,
independent editor, and director of the Writers Retreat Workshop and other
programs) will guide you step-by-step through the thorny revision process,
empowering you to tackle your work with enthusiasm and clarity.

THE BONI/WRW GRADUATE
FALL WRITING RETREAT
With OPTIONAL Manuscript Evaluation and One-on-One Meeting
with Lorin Oberweger or Jason Sitzes
A long-standing tradition for WRW graduates, the autumn
writing retreat is also now open to graduates of the Breakout Novel Intensives.
Come and give yourself the gift of hours and hours of unstructured time to make
REAL progress on your novel.
And do it in the magical, inspiring setting of New
England in autumn!
Though the workshop staff will conduct daily critique or
brainstorming sessions (participation is optional), this retreat is all about
your productivity
and your
pace.
You'll have your own comfy accommodations, three delicious
meals a day, the fall foliage of Enfield NH in October, and the company of other
dedicated writers.
You'll also have the opportunity to vie for the prestigious 'Golden Cluck'
award, a prize whose beauty just barely exceeds its level of stature. (Those
unfamiliar with the 'Cluck' will just have to come find out for themselves!)
OPTIONAL ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS:
You'll also have the opportunity to take advantage of
optional one-on-one meetings with Lorin Oberweger or Jason Sitzes (manuscripts
will be divided among the two).
You'll be invited to submit up to thirty manuscript pages, as well as your
synopsis and query letter if you have it. We'll comment on those and meet for an
hour to brainstorm, discuss your manuscript's strengths and weaknesses, and to
help give your time at the retreat or at home real direction.
These meetings will be limited, so we invite you to sign up for those when you
register. We'll follow up with you as to where and how to send pages.
